BionX verses Phoenix II 7240
I'm new to e-bikes and was thinking about converting my hardtail / commuter bike. I would need to travel over 20 miles per day (four 5 mile trips) to work. I don't mind pedaling but without turning it into a major workout it just takes too long to be practical to go home over lunch (have to because of our elderly dog).
I'm guessing the BionX would be the safer be but the Phoenix Brute looks like it would be more fun. I thought the extra torque would be good if I moved it my full suspension bike some day and going over 35 is not appealing.
Any input? They are both brushless and similar in price. The Phoenix also comes with a less potent option that would put them at the exact price.
Thanks for your input! Chris

Since im new I can't yet post my own thread but I rode a trek this weekend with their e assist ant it was a kick.
My question would be to ask what people think of the pl-500 va the pl-350...
I sorta want the option of > 20 mph speeds but think that sacrifices the faster takeoff the 350 gives..

I love mtbr but as you can see this hasn't been a rip roaring thread. I did find a great site with a very active community though. Riders there are very helpful even if they differ greatly in opinion. After a month of research I've decided that going 25mph is about the max speed I would want on my hardtail in traffic while still having a plug and play setup that can handle a 20 mile commute. I'm sure you would get a quick response to your question. Search Endless period sphere period com and you will find a wealth of info. Good luck!

endless sphere is a great site. I learned A LOT over there. I ended up building my own for a fraction of the price a prebuilt one costs. check out the ES forums.
