    Bike computer screen question

I posted this on the trek forum but not much response. Any way here it goes. I have a Bontrager w4 bike computer. When looking directly at the screen (as you would sitting on the seat) the lettering is really dim. At first I was thinking the battery. But then I noticed if I look at the screen from a side angle the lettering was bold like it should be. Any experience with the LCD screens going bad? I figure that alot of these bike computers are made by just a few companies with different brands and features. The computer is about 1 year old.

    Re: Bike computer screen question

Are you looking at it through polarized sunglasses?

No polarized glasses. I replaced the battery and all is well. I just thought it odd for an angled view it was good but directly looking at the screen it was faded. I was thinking the screen was going bad.

Have you tried replacing the battery? I had one that did that and a new battery took care of it. If it still acts that way, warranty on the Bonty computers is 2 years, so no worries.
