Any info on this old Bianchi?

This is a late 80's - early 90's Bianchi Alante. My father bought it new around that time. He passed in 2003, and I have held on to it every since. Kind of has a little sentimental value. I was hoping someone could tell me more about it. I was going to call Bianchi directly and talk with them about it, but they do not have a phone number listed. I'm wondering if the frames came in sizes back then and just general info about it. It has the old egg shaped Shimano Biopace rings up front lol.

I brought it to work and cleaned it up. Greased the hubs and did a tune up. I have been riding it on my lunch break. Only problem with this is that I have realized I would really like to have a decent road bike to use. If this Bianchi has any value at all, and I could put it towards the cost of a road bike, I'd be thrilled.

Forgot to add..That's a newer Bontrager seat on it, the old one was no good and I tossed it. White cables are original, black are new replacements for cracked and splitting old ones. grips are also cheap knockoffs of ergos.

Besides the obvious sentimental value it is a fairly basic lower end bike from that era. Still looks solid, and should work well for a commuter for a long time, it doesn't have much monetary value so I'd keep it.

I don't have any info for you, but you could try this site and see if you can locate it. I imagine bikepedia is a good resource for the search too, as has been suggested.

I would also say it isn't worth much monetarily, but you can always try to find that person willing to pay on craigs or host a garage sale. It looks like it's in good shape. Good luck.

    Hi CNCWHIZ,

I purchased the same Bianchi Alante in Kansas City, MO in July, 1989.
But I have lost the manual that came with the Bike. If
you have it I would be glad to pay for a copy.

I went to Home | Bianchi USA, clicked on store and then clicked on
contact near the bottom of the page. I was then allowed to send them
a note. I sent a note asking where I could get the manual. I did this
yesterday and haven't received a response.

You might try this to ask your questions.

    Thanks
    GT
