I prefer to not listen to anything while riding, as I like to hear nature.

Mountainbikeradio.com - I know there is a forum member here that does a show on there called 'Just Riding Along.'

Also, google mountain biking podcasts.. I spared you the "let me google that for you"

Yeah I got a couple of hits with Google but I wanted to know what everyone else was listening to, if someone is listening to podcasts.

    Thanks

Hey guys, thanks. If you haven't checked out Mountain Bike Radio for a while, we've worked hard to add a ton of shows and content across the board. A ton of great listening goods. In the process of freshening up the site a little too.... Mountain Bike Radio is a network of mountain biking podcasts.

There are about 10-15 cycling podcasts. None of them are very good.

    My top 11:

    The Joe Rogan Experience
    Caustic Soda
    The Duncan Trussell Family Hour
Tangentially Speaking with Dr Chris Ryan
    Bill Burr's Monday Morning Podcast
    Common Sense with Dan Carlin
    Hardcore History
    No Agenda
    Stuff to Blow Your Mind
    The Bryan Callen Show
    Radiolab
    Supply Side Jesusnomosist

I'm a nerd for podcasts and will start listening to "mountain bike radio" also, if there are any others out there that are bike related (preferably not based solely on racing) list them if you would.

A little feedback for Mtnbikeradio (after listening to just half of a show), I have heard this on many podcasts, and maybe it's just me... but can you wait until after taping to start eating? Nobody tunes in to listen to someone crunch crunch crunch. call me a prude but it's kinda gross.

@fastale Cool. Thanks for checking it out. I'm assuming that you were listening to Just Riding Along. If you don't like the crunch, I would recommend not listening to Just Riding Along or the Drunkcyclist Podcast. They aren't worried of offending anyone. Probably not your type of shows.

Here are two I really like for long miles while commuting. Both European, both have interesting views.

/\ agree, I recently discovered the singletracks podcast and enjoy it. its called "Singletracks Mountain Bike News" on iTunes.

I also listen to the Cycling 360 media podcast. that one is geared mostly toward road riding.

I second Just Riding Along on MBR. Pretty funny banter and one of the hosts (Matt) has some funny-a$$ Twitter rants every now and again.

I like the Just Riding Along show too. The female on the show is super cool but one of the guys, I don't know which is a typical a-hole bike mechanic dbag. He went on a long rant about how stupid people are for tipping the mech with beers. It made me want to smack him. The other guy is cool though and they actually give some decent advice. They do eat a lot during the show but I got over it pretty quick.

This isn't mountain biking specific, but it is cycling specific, so I'll throw it out there because they touch a lot on general advocacy - How do we get more people on bikes in America? - the Spokesmen Cycling Roundtable Podcast. It can be very roadie, but even then the guys they have on (and gals occasionally) have enough character to keep it interesting.

There's a new 'engineering' podcast on the MBR podcast network and it's really good too if you're into the geek-side of mountain bike gear.

Hey I'll go ahead and throw my podcast in the list: The AngryMountainBiker! I've only got a couple of episodes so far but you can find it on iTunes or Soundcloud and I'm doing a new episode every 2-3 days.

Coming up in the next weeks I've got some great guests lined up, including a sports massage and nutrition expert, and an MTB guidebook author--Martin Fernandez, as well as on of our local IMBA\MORE trail liasons, Frank Raiti.

We'll be talking MTB of course but also rock climbing, relationships, fitness, politics and even how to name your kid (episode 1).

Tune in and leave a comment and rating on iTunes! My hope is to keep some pretty high entertainment value and production values. Your criticisms are welcome...

Any good podcasts for mountain biking?

I listen to a few select podcasts religiously and now much more than music. The PulpMX show is what mtb podcasts should be. Tons of entertainment, energy, insightful discussion, laughs and just a great, great podcast (but again, this is all about moto). I have yet to find an MTB podcast that wasn't dry, lacking personality and pretty much just boring.

That said, some of the ones above, I have not heard of - I'll try some. I've listened to the Singletracks podcast (dry and kinda boring) and tried Just Riding Along and sorry, thought it was terrible. For some of you aspiring podcasters, seriously - listen to Pulpmx. Its a weekly show with over 20,000 subscribers and growing. Maybe its apples to oranges, but the format and approach to the show is outstanding.
