Seems like a pretty good way to piss off a new sponsor!

    Thanks for the tip.

Thank you as well. Just purchased a set of their new road cycling shoes. I have had their Carbon G. Keira and are hands down the most comfortable cycling shoes I have owned. I actually got a pro deal on the SIDI Drako's and they are not anywhere as comfortable and sold them to a friend. Good luck to your wife. Must be a phenomenal athlete as I saw in her bio she was also a table tennis champion.

On top of this deal. If anyone wants any Syntace or SQ-Labs Liteville equipment go to Radsport USA - Home and use coupon code RS30BW for 30 percent everything there...

Nice! Wish that I had remembered this thread when I bought mine. Oh well. Keep this closer to the top so others can use it. Love my Gaerne Ergoair road shoes by the way, you leg shavers should give em a look, sized to fit normal American feet.

Just a quick bump to give props to you and your wife. After over a year this code is still working. Very nice of you man. Just took delivery of some 2014 Olympia's a few days ago. VERY well made stiff and super comfy shoes. I've been loyal to Sidi for a while, but must say......these Gaernes are very impressive and much more comfortable. That says a lot coming from Sidis.

My LBS talked me into $500 Gaerne road shoes at a considerable discount. Worst shoe I have ever owned. Ratchet closing mechanism failed. Tongue hurts. Hot as hell. Seems designed for people who have symmetrically pointed feet like cowboy boots. Even thinking of the shoe gets my blood boiling.

Not saying that all Gaerne products are bad. Just be aware that all of their products aren't great.

Ratchets are a funny thing...pretty delicate because they rely on a very small spring for tension. I awlays buy extras. I'll say that I've put multiple years on three pairs on Gaerne MTB shoes, and the aluminum ratchets have only been broken in crashes, never failed, so sounds like you had bad luck. The remainder of your complaint - Gaerne makes models with variable venting. I have shoes with more for summer, and less for winter. A low ventialtion shoe won't be a good thing in a wamr climate. That's not a design flaw, its simply the wrong model shoe for your metabolism and climate. As far as the shape and pain in the tongue. Gaernes only work for people with low volume feet. Try Lake or Shimano. Sounds like they simply don't fit. I'll tell you who failed here....your LBS (in every way).
