    Stem change

Hey guys, I have a med. 2009 GF x-cal and I am running a 0 degree 90mm stem. I also have a med. fatbike with a 50mm stem. The geometry as far as the top tube are the same on both bikes. That said, I really love the handling on the 50mm stem. Has anyone went with a shorter stem than what fisher gives you? I have read that fisher recommends that one should stay within +-10mm for stems, or it can negate the benefit of the G2 geometry. Also, my fatbike has long chain stays that keeps it stable, the fisher does not. If anyone is running a short stem, let me know how your making out with it. Thanks.

I am running a 50mm stem with 725mm bars. They work well together. I even went as far as replacing the G2 fork on my bike. It is more comfortable to me now than how I bought it. It is a good all around bike now performing well whether going uphill, downhill or turning.

    Also, I I went from a 90mm stem to the 50mm and then tried a 60mm 8 stem. I settled on the 50mm.
