    Seatpost collar nighttmare-please help

    Ok,

So I was told the correct seatpost collar size for my 2010 Hifi plus was 34.9. I ordered a Hope 34.9 collar. I received it today and it wont go on.

Do i need to lube it and force it on. The stock collar slides on nice and snug with no problem.

The hope is a quick release.

Does Trek/Fisher not use industry standard sizes to frustrate their end users or am i doing something wrong.

    Thank you for any input

    Upgrade-itus?

Serious, make sure that you in fact need a 34.9 and the Hope you received is just that. If everything is right size wise, see if you can back off the qr nut and open up the clamp a little.

My 2010 Rumblefish takes a 36.4 and I'm pretty sure your Hifi would take the same. Salsa makes them in this size.
