Just as important as the specs would be the condition that the bike is in? Does it look like it went through hell and back? Also, as many other riders I'm sure would respond, go ride it and see how it feels for you.

it looks used, but i cant see any signs of rust/serious problems.

I just want to know is it something i should drive 30min to take a look at?

pedals seat looks like they need replacing

This is the exact same model/year that I have and I love it. I ride almost exclusively XC and it's held up well. The pedals will need replacing and that saddle looks pretty bad.

I bought one of these bikes new for $325 back in 2007. I am not impressed with the price, but it was a lot of fun for a cheap price.

Thanks. i was probably going to offer 250 cash if the bike was in prime condition.

    Is that still to high?

I sold mine for $225 but the chainrings were all jacked up at the time. Sounds like a fair price if it is in excellent condition.
