    Hi Fi question??

    Ok I am new here. And I need some help. I would like to replace the current fork I have in my 2009 Hi Fi wich is a tora solo air 120 mm.
    I would like to get more travel more like 140 or so also my budget is 500 max.
    I read all sorce of things like tapered fork etc. Can someone please help thanks.

    Well,
    My 2009 HiFi (26" wheels) is a standard 1 1/8" steerer-not tapered. I am not sure which 140mm fork would be best for upgrading, or how that would affect the handling. Gary Fishers have the G2 geometry which will play a part in the new handling characteristics with a 120mm fork (unless you get a G2 fork, that is).

    Sorry I am not much more help, but at least look for something that's NOT a tapered steerer.

    Pretty sure you can put whatever fork you want on that bike, its just a matter of how it affects the geometry and handling.
