    Does a G2 Fork make it a G2 geometry?

I have to replace the Reba fork on my Gary Fisher Rig 29er. It's an older frame with the original first generation Genesis geometry. The newer forks are designed for the G2 geometry, which I think includes a longer offset to shorten trail and speed up the steering. I like the idea of slightly quicker steering, but wondering if the combo would be "weird" on a frame that wasn't designed around the G2 geometry. Thoughts?

I have tried my G2 Fox fork on my Redline. Handling felt a little twitchy in comparison but I quickly adjusted my riding style. Overall I thought it was great. There seem to be a handful of folks here running G2 forks on non-G2 frames that love the handling.

No. The offset of the fork is designed around the G2 geometry. The fork itself does not create the g2 geometry.

+1 on above. The fork alone does not make it G2 geometry. the frame and more specifically top tube with the fork placement...

Hello, I'm from Germany! Is it possible to buy such a G2-fork in a business?
Here in Germany you can not unfortunately...
How are the forks priced e.g. recon or reba (26``)

Yes, Pretty sure you can buy the Reba's with the same offset as the forks with the G2 Geometry.

I have seen Fox G2's on sale on ebay as well.
