    Crack is whack...

Lost my Paragon to the infamous seat tube crack. Into my ride yesterday I noticed a crack at the front of the seat tube right above the weld to the top tube. I've had the bike for a few years and recently built it back up as a singlespeed. I was really loving the new setup so I'm a bit bummed by this setback.

Does anyone know if Trek is still generous about upgrading to carbon Superfly frames in these instances? Long shot but just curious.

No, the Superfly thing was only because there weren't any AL hardtail frames available.
Worked at Trek/Fisher dealer 2008-2013. Only a little biased.

They are sending me a Superfly Al Elite frame. Guess it is an improvement with the tapered head tube and press fit bb...but they aren't giving me the conversion parts for my old stuff to work. Think I may just sell the frame.

You should press them into sending you an x-cal frame. No taper, no press fit, should be gtg as is.
I'm looking forward to regretting this.......

    +1, that's what I'd do.

I was going to press for a different frame but I figured the Superfly Al would pull more for resale than the Xcal.

After weighing the options I'm going to keep the frame...unless someone really wants it. Frame size is 21".

Took less than a week to get here. Matt at the LBS says Trek revised the geometry a little. Chainstays are much beefier than the Paragon (more of a square tubing now) and the downtube seems HUGE in comparison. Looks like this will be a much stiffer ride. Going to build it up as a 1x10. Can't wait to give this a ride.

Thanks to Olivers in Tampa for taking care of this so quickly!

My Paragon crakced also (but think I am going to just get a new Superfly) because I loved my Paragiin so much.... And the new design (and lifetime warranty)
