    2012 Wahoo vs 2012 Marlin 29

Will the price difference be worth it for the Marlin?
    I am 6'3 320lbs look like a football player.
Going back into riding to loose weight down to 230+ lbs.

Sold my Kono Fire Mountain to my brother last year. How will these Trek's compare?

    Thanks.

Well the 2012 8.4 DS isnt available till August.
I have decided against the Wahoo.
I have two Cobia's to choose from:
2011 Cobia @ $1139. with seat swap and tax included.
2010 Cobia @ $850. not including tax only two components different from 2011.

Actually more then two components different then the 2011 from the 2010.
But I meant only two downgraded components in difference.

I would definitely say to you should pass up the Wahoo. The Cobia will be a much better beginner mountain bike. If you have the money though I would definitely recommend going a step further to the X-Caliber, I'm also getting into the sport and just ordered my first real mountain bike and should be picking it up tomorrow (X-caliber which I got for $1399). I really didn't have the money to go with the x-cal right now and was also conce=idering the Cobia but finally decided it was the best deal for this price range to go with the X-cal. It also has a better drive train (crank, derailleurs, shifters ect..) having ten gears making steep hill climes easier as well as smoother shifting. The front suspension and brakes are also upgraded from the Cobia.

If you were going to go with the Cobia what features are different components between this years and next? I would also think the 2012's wouldnt come out to late Aug. early Sept. well.

Just dropped a deposit on the 2011 Cobia. They wont have any good 29er's in now till august or later.
I am happy with this choice. swapped out the seat, tires and pedals added a computer.

    Congrats on your X-caliber!

Thanks, Hopefully they will get it in tomorrow and have it waiting for me, congrats on your Cobia as well. Its better you got this years as you would have probably got a better deal and it also seems like Trek is stripping a lot of its bikes component wise with next years models.

Decided to change your mind huh You should be happy with it, I did some research and it seems like the best deal, sounds like we cant go wrong with the X-cal as an entry level bike

Is the X-cal on treks site a 2012?

They said it will be ready by Monday or Tues. I Paid half so far.
