2006 Cake 2 DLX Top Tube, Cracked or Paint?

I just noticed this hairline on my top tube. Not sure if it is paint or a crack, anyone have any ideas? Very upset about this, this frame was a warranty replacement back in 2007. Not sure if they will warranty again, plus do not know where receipts are anymore.

That really looks like paint to me but it is hard to tell from the picture. I would take it to your LBS for further inspection.

Yeah, about 3-4 inches in front of seat tube. Weird place for a stress crack.

Definately a crack........take it in and get your warranty frame.
I crashed hard enough on my Tallboy to break my leg,
The carbon is way more durable than most people.

That sucks, I had an event I wanted to attend this weekend.

Plus what are they even going to send me? Nothing but 29" frames in the line up now, I am going to wind up having to buy a new fork and shock.

If they have them left you will get a carbon HiFi frame, if not you will get a Trek. The new frame will come with a shock and you can get adapters to make the fork work.

I hope that is the case. I really loved my Cake, had no intentions of getting rid of it for a while. Was planning to replace all the cable, seat, and other well worn parts this winter.

Got my information today. They are sending me a 2010 Roscoe 3 frame and shock, with headset, and skewers. Gonna be weird to have all my 2004 components on a 2010 bike. Might have to break out the touch up paint and get rid of the scratches on my wheels.
