Listen! '10 GF Hifi Plus 29er CLOSEOUT, opinions please

im on a mission to get a deal on a FS 29er and believe I landed a potentially AWESOME one. I didn't pull the trigger yet but have been to my LBS to take it for a ride and fell in love with it along with being in contact over the phone with the shop. They phoned the owner and have come down on price because they want it out of the inventory. I'm short and it is a small 16" frame (perfect for me), maybe this is why it hasnt sold?

my only concern is why a nice bike like this has been collecting dust for a year and a half? bottom line is this, they offered the bike for $1900 plus tax and I know I can talk them down to 1900 out the door. (we started at 2199).

    hit me with your thoughts/opinions

I have that same bike and I love it BUT I bought mine brand new at the end of 09 (2010 model) and I paid $1900 so it doesn't sound like that good of a deal. You should be able to find a 2011 or maybe a 2012 for close to the same price and it'll have a better group on it. I love mine but I'm selling it to get the 2012 SF100 Elite...time for carbon.

$1900 sounds a bit high, but not crazy depending on the market. IMO, the 2010 has an edge over newer because of the Fox fork, and the full lifetime warranty. Try to get it for a little less, but if you already love it, well that might be worth paying a little extra, eh?
Worked at Trek/Fisher dealer 2008-2013. Only a little biased.

looks like the 10 fishers are lifetime on swing arm and frame, trek 11's and up do not include the swing arm, correct?

LBS in Wisconsin is selling off their rental bikes (right next to trail head) for 1500. Not sure how good of shape its in but this is a comparison

You sure can, but with 240/Crest wheels, XTR drivetrain, and some carbon goodies you'll be paying just as much for my used bike. The bigger (literally) problem is you'll have to grow a few inches to fit the large

just called back and talked for 10minutes with the guy that i've been talking to about the bike. he is calling the owner to ask about $1600.

i was straight up with him and didn't even leverage with other bikes/shops. I told him at 1900 it didnt seem like a good value compared to the new models they had on their floor at the $2300 price range. not to mention its demand is quite low sitting for a while. He agreed with my viewpoint and said that's close to cost and it may not fly but he will try anyways.

    fingers crossed

I think $1600 is a good deal on that bike, if they accept - buy it.
