    08 HiFi Deluxe broken chainstay

I know there has been a lot of chatter about GF chainstays cracking, but I'm wondering what is going to happen with my warranty now that these bikes are no longer made. The chainstay on my 08 HiFi Deluxe 26" snapped completely while riding down one of my local trails. I took it into my LBS and they are going to send my claim in to Trek but had no idea how it would be be dealt with.

Anyone know if they might be able to replace this part only or will I have to get a new frame? I'm so bummed to be without my bike going into September the best month of the year to ride here in the northwest.

    Back in business

Okay--I'm answering my own question. Just eight days after dropping off my bike, the LBS called and said a new frame had arrived for me. Since they no longer had a replacement chainstay for the 08 Fisher, Trek sent me a brand new Fuel Ex 8 frame. How cool is that! I was really impressed with the fast turnaround too since I'm on the west coast and Trek is in Wisconsin. Kudos to Trek for taking such good care of me and standing behind their product.
