$300 for this used Gary Fisher?

A guy responded to my mountain bike wanted post on craigslist and wants $300 for it. Claimed he bought it for $1800 and had been asking for $400 but is willing to let it go for $300. Also says that it has "all Shimano XT parts". I think it looks pretty nice but just wanted to ask the guys who have been around the sport for advice.

Hard to swallow at $300 let alone at $400. Bike is at least 8 or 9 years old.....rim brake only....old fork.....old components......would you pay $300 for a computer that was $1800 9 years ago?
I crashed hard enough on my Tallboy to break my leg,
The carbon is way more durable than most people.

That's not an xt rear derailuer or crankset. Even 8 Yeats ago 1800.00 wouldn't get you a full xt speced bike. Stay away from it.

It still has reflectors on the wheels, probably not ridden hard!
If the fork is working it may not be a bad deal. It is not easy to find a sub 25lb bike in the shop for under $1200
The wheel is a extension of the foot

    Year and model?
I paid $735 for my 2003 Big Sur NIB as a leftover.
