Shock size on '07-'10 Outland Pro?

I was toying with the idea of a different shock on my Outland, until I emailed Fuji regarding the size of the rear shock. Here is the reply I received:

The eye to eye is 165mm on that frame and the stroke of the shock you are using should be about 50mm.

That would make the rear shock a 6.5 x 2.0. Wanna know how many options there are in this size? Not many. has anyone else had to replace their rear shock? If so, what did you replace it with?

    Thanks in advance.

I'm interested in this as well. I want to upgrade both the front fork and rear shock to Fox next summer.

    Hi Bob,

I have an 07 Outland Comp in the garage with a Suntour Epicon shock on it. A quick check with a ruler and it looks to be a 165x38mm size. It would be very strange to have a 50mm stroke shock on a 100mm travel bike?

Should be many options for a replacement of that size shock out there.

    Good Luck.

    Thanks for the confirmation

The more I look into this (and by my rudimantary measurements of the shock) I'm inclined to believe that it's 165 x 38. Bummer that Fuji customer service is apparently not up to speed on this. I have yet to see a 165 x 50 shock out there.
