Tapered head tube for a carbon HT

I am on the beginning stages of working out how to build a carbon hardtail frame. I can get all the tubing I want and joining it is easy enough. My problem is what would be the best way to go out making the head tube? All the frames I have seen with them have integrated headsets. I guess I could form the tube with foam and make one by vacuum bagging and just build it up till its to the right thickness. But getting one that's premade would be allot easier.
