    suspension forks on a non sus bike

    hey guys,
    im after some help with my bike, ive had it wile and i was wondering it is possible to put sus forks on it.
    all help is greatfull.

    here is my bike specs:
    dawes xc 1.0

    Frame:
    Fork:
    Dawes 6061 alloy with MTB geometry
    Rigid steel unicrown
    Headset: Threaded 1.1/8"

    It is possible, but I wouldn't recommend it. It looks like your bike has a non-suspension corrected fork on it. I can't find the geometry from your bike, but the 2013 model has a 70 degree head angle. Putting a suspension fork on it will raise the front end a significant amount and leave you with a very slack head angle and a bad handling bike.

    thanks for the reply, ive been looking at the same make bikes but newer than mine, they have the same frame but have sus. i get what your saying about bad handling, but if i was to do it what else would i need?
    new headset and stem?

    The frames with suspension may appear the same, but they were probably designed for the longer axle to crown measurement of the suspension fork. If you go ahead with replacing your fork you should only need a threadless headset(probably a standard 1 1/8" 34mm external cup will fit your frame), a stem with a clamp size to match your current handlebar and probably a few 5mm spacers to give you room to adjust your stem height.
