    Old pic from IRD catalog

    Found this catalog cleaning the shop today. I will put a couple of pics up at the VRC but I thought you all would find this jig interesting. I built my first few frames on it. It had a moveable mitreing head so you would design the frame, clamp the tubes in and cut away, crazy heavy but really interesting.

    I owned this jig for a while. It is now used in a local high school for their framebuilding class. It weighs slightly more than an aircraft carrier.

    Yamaguchi has been teaching it for the last few years. Makes me want to go back to high school. the kids have done some cool stuff, one alum is now a pro MTB racer. Pretty cool.

    Did you get it from John? Where is the high school its at now, I was under the impression lots of pieces of it ended up all over the place around Flag and Sedona.

    Yes, I got it from John in about 2004. I was designing some frames and wanted to build them, but ended up working with someone else for the welding. I did about 20 frames with 2 welders. I donated the jig table to CRMS in Carbondale, CO, where they have been putting it to good use.

    I own the 1 & 3/8" half block.
    Rod Moses was looking for it a few years ago, he called me looking for it.
    He wanted it back - John never really paid for it.......................
