Feels a whole lot different. Rides like a Rolls, handles like a Ferrari. Confidence inspiring (Think I heard that from someone else too).
Big 2.55 WTB Weirwolf LTs running tubeless at 25lbs make a difference as well. And allowing those tires to stay in contact with the ground regardless of rider input gives you a feeling that the bike won't drop out from under you.
That's where the floating brake comes in. Honestly I didn't think I would feel it so much, but you do. I enjoy an occasional heart rate increasing downhill, but I also enjoy some form of speed control. With the floater the bike just slows and stays planted. And besides it has some serious cool factor!
Rear Shock - Some new air shock stiction but that is already improving with just four rides (72 miles). Love the linear feel and then having the last 25% become progressive AND the ability to tune that to my riding style.
Sags at ~ 5/8"+. Main chamber I think is 95lbs and 52lbs on the secondary. Firm button is 3.5 turns out. Rebound is right in the middle.
Adjustable post - First one I've ever owned. Listened to everyone's pros and cons. Stumbled across this brand new one on Fleabay. Love it! How in the heck I ever rode without one I'll never know but having that ability to drop it to save the jewels and get the body weight lower really gives you that added control.
I rode last night on my training course by the house. Typically it's on my 18.5 lb hardtail and I avoid rocks like the plague. Rode last night on the Foes and blew through every rocky section I could find at speeds like an 18 year old with confidence and comfort!
Riding tonight with a couple guys who enjoy fast downhills so we'll see if I can keep up. Uphill...let's just say I'm a goater by nature and this bike still allows me to go up without the aid of a shuttle.
Where did you get the RED rod ends for the brake rod? I am about to replace mine and if I can get coloured ones..... did not even know they existed.
Through QA1. Couple items worth noting: $25 dollar minimum so if you order 4 rod ends and 4 jam nuts you'll be at the minimum. Size is 1/4-28 (p/n AMR-4) and both ends are right hand thread. Aluminum jam nuts are p/n JNR4-A. When you take off the old ones there wil be some very small brass shims inside the bolt hole due to the fact these are inch sized and the bolts used are metric. Those shims need to find their way into the new ones.
