Can I get an appraisal on this bike?

The bike is a demo bike but in good/like new condition. What would you say this bike is worth if it was brand new? (with the exception of the fork, factor in that the fork is 2009/2010)

Frame: 2010 Foes FXR 2:1 ratio; 6.5" of travel; thru-axle.

Shock: Curnutt Air with Platform control (fully rebuilt & like new)

    Fork: Fox Float 36

Stem: Foes D6 Racing Stem, 50mm

    Handlebar: Truvativ Stylo

    Shifters: Shimano SLX

    Brakes: Hayes Stroker Ryde

    Grips: ODI Ruffian

    Seatpost: Truvativ Stylo

    Seat: Tangent

    Crankset/BB: FSA V-drive

    Cassette: Shimano SLX

    Rear Der.: Shimano XT

    Front Der.: Shimano SLX

    Chain: Sram PC951

    Wheelset: Sun Ringle ADD Lite

    Front Tire: Kenda Nevegal 2.35

Rear Tire: Kenda Small Block Eight 2.35

pretty average build, for a foes. i dunno what it's worth, maybe $6k new, given the cost of the frame, about $3k second hand. used bikes aren't worth much, everyone knows they get thrashed. you see $10k moots on ebay all the time for a quarter of their original cost. look, i mean, you and i both know a six month old $6k bike should be worth $5k, right, that would be a fair price for a relatively new bike that hasn't been raced or thrashed. however, things are only worth what someone's willing to pay, the market decides, not us, and <50% is about what you're looking at.

a few years ago i built-up an awesome bullit for trail riding. found some immaculate 02 monster t's for it (arguably the best forks of all time), full xtr, everything, she was a real pearler. got the frame for cheap from a mate, but still spent about $5k on the whole build. i'd done less than ten rides on it, and a few months later i ran totally out of money and had to sell it, got $2200. i wasn't happy, but to be honest, it was too much bike for trail riding, and you can only ride one bike at a time anyway.

$1,500-$1,800. That build is pretty low end.
Stupid, but sometimes witty. Occasionally brilliant. Slow and fat though.

i'm thinking $3k resale in relative aussie terms, where everything costs (literally) twice as much, for no particular reason.

For sure! Bruno at Foes hasn't emailed me yet that they've got it back from the painters but it might be done this week. Then that's another week or so before I receive it in the mail..
