    My Felt Edict Nine 60

I'll get proper pictures on Friday. Just wanted to document it in a clean state. I ordered it last week and transferred all my Nine Race's components to it.

I picked it up before work so here it is chilling in the back alley.

    SLX M665 crank 36/22
XT rear deraileur, Sram X5 fd, and XTR shifters
Manitou Tower Pro fork 120mm 20mm axle
    Specialized Command Post dropper
    Nobby Nics
Saint pedals waiting to be installed in my room.

I won't be free to ride it until Friday morning. Work and school. It's probably the shiniest it'll ever be again. =)

Tested out the new bike this morning.

    Ride profile

    I just found this funny.

    Middle of the switchbacks

    Iím a rebel

I got the first fall out of the way. Got overconfident on a downhill section and foolishly braked on a patch of sand. I went down the hill but a bush stopped my slide. Some scratches, but nothing bad.

Hi Paul, I love the bike. I go faster than on my hardtail on the same routes. I thought I was going slower, but numbers say differently. It's stable at speed and it handles similarly to my hardtail, just smoother. No complaints yet.

I'll put a lot more miles in these coming weeks because of a booboo my road bike acquired in a paceline.

    Hi,

Love the bike, the colour scheme on the 60s is brilliant. I have just recently bought a Edict Nine 50 and am working on upgrading it.
Can I ask how you find the 120 fork, and 100mm rear travel? I want to put a new fork on mine and have already dropped the front end by 10mm to compensate for my wider bars/shorter stem and the handling is fantastic! I am worried that I will ruin the handling by extending the travel.

Hi, I never rode it with the 100 mm fork. I find the bike handles amazingly well with the 120 mm front and 100 mm rear. I don't have any issues with it. I like the extra travel in the front. For what it's worth the Tower Pro was originally on my Nine Race which was designed for a 100 mm fork, when I changed it to the 120 mm fork I didn't feel much difference handling wise.

Thanks Carlos, you have just cost me four hundred quid ;-)

Will look into the tower fork, they look pretty good.

Appreciate the advice, I know what you mean about feeling slower but going faster, I've upgraded from a Nine Sport and felt the same, just the smoother ride I guess.

You have a rad bike! I am looking at a 2014 Edict Nine 60. Just curious what yours weighed after you swapped out the components from your hard tail.

Hey DD, Sorry, I never weighed it. If I had to guess I'd say 25-26 lbs? I'll have the LBS weigh it when it goes in for my free tune-up.
