Increase fork travel on 2013 Felt Nine 50

I recently purchased 2013 Felt Nine 50 Bike. The front fork is a “RockShox Recon Silver TK 29 solo air, tapered aluminum steerer tube, forged alloy crown, magnesium lowers, disc mount, lockout, adjustable air spring, adjustable rebound, 100mm travel (80mm fork on 14" offering)”.

I see on SRAM’s website I can increase the travel of this fork to 120mm by removing spacers. But also in my research I have read some OEM forks cannot increase travel from the manufacture spec’s. Does anybody know if this is true and this particular fork? Don’t want to take the fork apart and find out it cannot be done.

My(and my wife's) Edict 50's came w/ the Recon Gold, and yes I was able to remove the internal spacer and make them 120mm.

You might want to double check with felt as it's possible that adding that travel could add stress to the frame and void the warranty. At least to be safe.
