    World's Biggest Weight Weenie get's a FatBike!

We'll I've wanted one for a while so I finally got one. I was (of course) going to go Carbon Beargrease but I found a great deal on a 2012 Mukluk 3. I did my first ride on it yesterday and man after 3 years on a Sub 14lb. bike it was a workout! I was SO tired but man was it FUN! I'm going to ride it exclusively for a while so when I get back on my Niner it will fell like a Rocket Ship!

I've got a bunch of stuff on order for it so keep coming back here to check the progress. Not WW stuff just some personalization stuff (maybe made out of carbon). ;-)

Congrats and welcome. Weight weenies help pay the way to us all getting better light stuff and I appreciate it.

Congrats on your new bike! Yup, she can give you quite the workout, but the fun outweighs it every time.

As a reformed WW*, I'm looking forward to watching the evolution of this and if you ride only groomed or made trails, it will be all good.

Or will you suddenly realise one day as you cruise over boggy/soft surfaces that the bike's weight is not the main factor in its performance?

*Not totally reformed - I'm now of the mindset - nothing heavier than it should be, and nothing lighter than it ought to be. If it wasn't that I often have to lift my bike over high deer fences or carry it fair distances, I would no longer care about the weight. (My heavy Pug is faster over 24 hours than my super light Ti pedigree race bike, and I pick it over my lighter 907.)
As little bike as possible, as silent as possible.

Yeah after 2 rides I know that I'll get stronger on this thing. I've gotten soft trucking around 13.9lbs of bike for too long.

Drevil and Ozzybmx I've got a machinist friend working on the 100mm Sweetwings now (I do have 2 extra sets just sitting around) actually. He's making a jig and I already have the Chromoly tubing to extend the spindle. Stay tuned!

Dang! I have some Sweet Wings that could be 100mm-irized too!

(Although I have to dig up all the parts for it scattered throughout my basement.)

It will be interesting to follow what WW-solutions you find. I'm a bit of a WW myself :-) but try to hold back now that the bike is sub 11 kg.

Yeah it's 33.09 now and on paper I can get 5lbs. off of it pretty easily. I'll do a whole thread on the weight drop after everything comes in and after I get back from AngelFireNM. Gonna do some Downhilling next week. I'll take pictures of the stock components on a scale and then the new counterparts on the scale.
