We got the first taste of winter at the end of October, just in time for a gruelling Mammoth March, which I deemed to be better suited to my Salsa Fargo.
As expected, the first snow didn't last, but during the last days of November the winter came with snow and cold temperatures. I spent the following four months almost exclusively on the fatbike, in addition to the skis.
December was cold, snowy and dark.
January started with a thaw, which was quite depressing.
Soon the real winter returned, though, and we got some really cold weather.
In February we got enough snow to limit riding to the trails near the city as well as some rare snowmobile trails.
At the end of the month, the sun finally came out from the cloud cover, after a very cloudy winter with only fifty hours of sunlight since the beginning of December.
The sunny weather continued through March.
The winter continued for one and a half week into April, making this a fairly long winter here in Southern Finland.
The larger guy riding on the pictures is me and the smaller guy is Toni.
