who is running a 1x setup on your fatty?

Who is running a 1x setup and im curious if anyone is running a one up or wolf tooth 42 tooth rear gear on cassette. I am thinking about upgrading my spec fatboy to a 1080 rear cassette and a one up 42 tooth setup.

I used to run 1x9 in Indiana, 30T chain ring front, 11-34 cassette.
I put granny back on now that I live in the mountains. New bike will be 1x10 with a 42 added.

    34 x 12/36, mostly X/C trails. I may go 32 this winter though.

I'm running 1x10 on my Ti Mukluk. Xt cassette with Wolftooth 42 Gc replaced the 15&17 with a One up 16 and am running a Wolftooth 26 XX1 direct mount front. I was afraid to go so low up front at first but I climb the crap out of this beast and had to get as close to 22x36 as I could get. I've got about 2 months use out of this set up and can honestly tell you I will never go back.

    1x9 on my pugsley
    30T front and 12-36 rear

Seems to be a pretty good range for single track but could use a few gears lower for long hills or soft snow.

Tried the Wolftooth with XTR and I didn't really care for the shifting in the smaller cogs. went to x01 and much gooder now. From my experience and from what I have read people are having better results with Sram+42 hack than Shimano. Oh and since this is now a pic thread.

For me it's not about needing a lower gear it'a about being able to run a bigger ring up front to gain range running a single.

30 x 11 gives me PLENTY of top end, and running the 30 keeps my most often used gears out back right in the middle of the cassette, meaning way less cross chaining and longer chain/drivetrain life. straighter chain=more efficient chain.

I think it is an RSD Mayor but I could be wrong.

I'm using a poor man's cassette with a WolfTooth 42T in rear and a WolfTooth 30T in front. Works fairly well. Seems to be sensitive about hanger alignment.

I really have been thinking a lot about going 1x10, but just don't know if I can handle w/o 22/36 in da winter.

It would be a great setup though if you had the legs to push it. I like slow crawling, and if 30x42 can get me enough low end I would be in.

I'm running a 28 up front with a 10-42 in back, stock XX1 with grip shift. It's geared a little low for some riding, I might change to a 30 up front for certain things. I like how clean the cockpit is with the grip shift and no shifting on the left side.

Same here, 28 is a tad low at least in the summer for myself as well. I have a 30 on order and might even try a 32.

who is running a 1x setup on your fatty?

Love the simplicity of a 1X drivetrain.

    X01/Wolftooth 32t/grip shift

X9 10 speed with a Wolftooth 42t GC, Raceface 32t narrow wide, X9 trigger shifter.
Don't think I'll ever go back to a front derailleur setup.

Initially, there was some skipping from the 15t to 19t, but I just fiddled with it till it didn't skip any more. Been working great ever since.

Running a 1x10 with the Wolf Tooth 42 in back and a crazy low WT 26t chainring. I do spin out at times but I don't race the bike & I think this set up will work for me in the winter. Also, I have not switched to a clutch type RD even though it's recommended. I've yet to drop a chain even on some rough single track.

Running a 1x9 setup on my On-One Fatty

    32tx12t-36t

I am planning on a 30t up front as I think this will help more in winter than the dry season.

My Fatboy is 1x10 with a 30T Raceface nw ring up front, Wolftooth 42t in the back and a Standard X7 RD. I noticed a big improvement when I swapped to an X7 type 2 with a clutch.

long cage? going max 36 out back with a 30 up front means mid cage is fine. there would be no improvement going to a clutch der for me as my x-5 works flawless. effortless smooth never skip shifting.

1x10 on my mukluk. 32t N/W up front on stock cranks with a 11-36 out back with the stock x7 rd. Works awesome for singletrack around my area. Had the opportunity to try it in the snow when i first had it done and i was looking for one more gear, may have to go to the wolf tooth 42 or drop to a 30t up front for the winter. It really is a fun setup and makes the bike look a lot cleaner. Cant wait til 1x11 prices come down a bit more!

XX1 RD, XO cassette, XO twister and e*13 28T crankset on my current proto.
Vee Speedster on 80mm carbon hoops rolls insanely well (I roll away from road bikes) and due to the 21lb weight, I hassle the roadies on the local climbs as well.
Great fun, and an awesome allround machine.
Took my 12.5lb road bike out for the first time a few weeks ago, and it felt surprisingly slow, while previous years, the first ride on that bike has felt like it was turbocharged.

1x11 rocks by the way.So clean, so simple.

Midcage. The biggest difference is how much quieter things are with the clutch. Running a 42t I have to keep the chain fairly long so the extra resistance of the clutch help keep things quieter and in control.
