I thought Colorado would become increasingly 'Mellow' with regard to 'rules' after the recent legalization

"biking now represents and intrusive activity that affects others in the woods"

Are you kidding me? Why is biking not as viable as any other non motorized activity in the woods?

It's a big world folks, plenty of outside for everyone.

The article ends with "is there an answer?"

Yea, how about tolerating and respecting each other for the few milliseconds you have to interact with each other.

A bit of an overreaction. I went riding on the cross country trails near Whistler and every skier was really interested in what I was doing. This was on wide trails groomed with a machine with one side having the tracks and the other just flat for the skate skiers. Of course I stayed on the flat side of the trail. You could barely even see my tracks, if anyone took offense to my being there it could not be because I was ruining the trail.

But on the other hand, bikers have developed a well deserved bad rep from all the illegal trail building they do. At least here in BC they got organized a while back and started working with regulatory bodies, even decommissioning some trails.

Riding xc ski trail suck, riding snowmopile trails suck. This is why the new push is on for us to build and groom our own fat specific trail systems. Of coarse maybe us mid westerners are way off on this.

The Forest Service here in Bozeman has enforced a ban against all wheeled vehicles using winter routes, passing out tickets to the tune of 175 dollars, the fatbike community reached out and got a press release, that gave our user group a huge middle finger, it is frustrating to see these stories across the nation
