Gear for as long as I want to stay away and food/fuel for 3 days before resupply...

I carry basically the same stuff whether I roll fat or chubby...

    Safe riding,

First Aid kit, folding saw, collapsible dog bowl, extra water in stainless water bottle, dog treats, air gauge, arm and leg warmers, TP, and a few Junk Straps.
Riding Fat and still just as fast as I never was.

Depends on the ride at hand totally. But always a tube, patch kit, pump, tools, space blanket, gauge. On occasion, a cold beer in a coolie, and or a flask with a little something in it, or a small thermos and tea bags. Still some spare room for stuffing stuffable items...

Leash, poop bags, tube, pump, extra wool top. Dog treats are in a bento box, and tools are on shoulder strap of my camelback. Might bring extra clothes if temps are likely to change.

Epic! When I do put the frame bag on, it means I'm going a lil farther than normal. Spare tube, Crank Bros multitool, bear spray, flask, Gerber multitool, Kimber 3' in barrel .45 acp, extra socks, cliff bars.

Fully loaded on mars(Maui) with my other bike. All said equipment sans the .45 and with a Big Agnes Fly Creek one man tent on the handle bars and a slumber jack light weight sleeping bag in the seat bag.
