weinmann HL102 rims
I tried searching this forum, but found no hits for anything about these new 100mm rims from Weinmann. Weinmann Metal Products Co., LTD
they look like they might be a good cheaper alternative to the clown shoe, while being lighter than the Weinmann DHL100, or USchopper4"(same rim).
At 1270g with no holes, maybe it could even be as light or lighter than a clownshoe if someone got creative with it.
Has anyone seen these for sale anywhere yet?
Not yet. Can't work out where they've saved the weight.
Bet they appear in the chopper shops first.
As little bike as possible, as silent as possible.

On the HL102, it is fairly obvious how they saved some weight if you ignore the cross section diagram(which shows the DHL101), and look at the cross section visible in the Photo of the rim. It isn't a full double wall anymore, just a single wall with two oval hollow sections at the spoke holes.
The DHL101 is still full double wall, but has the spoke holes closer together a third divider wall, and I presume a thinner extrusion to save a little over the DHL100 at 1416g vs. 1579 for the DHL100.
I also noticed they have a single wall 80mm HL80 rim at 1198g that might be reasonable weight if drilled.
HL80 is approx. 990g when drilled with a single row of 32mm holes.
HL-102 is also 990g when drilled with two rows of 32mm holes.
We have 102s on our first Mk3 samples, but will use our new 895g 103mm rims in production.
