    Trying Fat: Beach Cruiser Wheels

Has anyone ever tried to use a wide beach cruiser wheel sets for winter riding using a standard mountain frame? They can be had on amazon pretty cheap Weinmann DH-39 36H Alloy Nutted Front Wheel, Black/Black, 26-Inch x 1.75mm: Sports & Outdoors [edit: ebay link was not the right wheel, sorry] These would be similar to 40mm Snowcat type rims. May require the rear hub to be swapped out for a 135.

It's double-wall, but looks to be about the same width as a Snowcat...Except for a short period that the hoops were made the Araya (similar to H-D's AMF days), Weinmann has made Snowcats since Simon Rakower got the first ones extruded sometime in the 90's.
