    Tightening Pug Crank Question

Hey all, so I just got a pug and ive been greasing her up and doing a little maintenance. I re greased the crank and when i was putting it back together i wasnt sure how much to tighten the drive side crank. If i hand tighten it then the pedals are a little tougher to push (not difficult but u can tell theres more resistance). I wanted to know if its suppose to be like that or can I just tighten to the point where there is no more play in the crank. Im sort of a noob so help me as much as you can. Thanks! Its a single speed if hat makes a difference.

There doesn't seem to be a spec; take all the slop out, then tighten the crank arm on the spindle. Bearing preload, like an old-style bottom bracket or bike hub.

FWIW, I am not impressed with this set-up.

    Tightening Pug Crank Question

Yup, there isn't a torque spec as it is will change, and probably barely even register on a torque wrench. Adjust it like you would any other bearing. Tighten until there isn't any more clicking. I found on the whirly, after a while anyway, that I would actually have to leave it a little bit loose, and clicking, as the bearings started to go, as anything close to not clicking was obviously to tight. Got a new bottoms bracket and crankset....fixed it.

    Tightening Pug Crank Question

I went with Race Face Turbine, not sure on cost as I shop wholesale...but a simple search will prove results. Love the crankset, but we will see how the BB holds up to the onslaught of winter.

Ya Im fortunate that I don't have to worry about winter messin much up being in florida haha.
And this might seem like a dumb question but the trails I ride have a good amount of roots an I bounce around a little. I know I'm not gonna get it to feel like a FS bike but would putting more air in the tires help or taking it out?

Less air always. Try 8 psi.

Yup, lose air until not bouncy. Summer I'm around 7-8.
