Surly Ultra New hubs with Jones fork

Has anyone used the Surly Ultra New hubs with a Jones fork? I was told that some people rigged it to work but have not seen it? I know Pauls WHUB works but I prefer bolt on over quick release. Ultra New Hubs | Parts | Surly Bikes

If your concern is having the rotor out far enough, then get one of these, or otherwise 5mm spacers:

If I get the surly hub then I'll need this spacer to line up with the Jones fork?

It isn't totally clear to me whether or not this hub has "front" 135mm disc spacing (like Paul WHUB) or "rear" 135 disc spacing like most standard rear hubs. However, from this page, it says the axle is 9mm, which to me implies that it has "front" disc spacing because rear axles are 10mm.

So on second thought, I don't think you need the adapter, but I'd touch base with Surly to make sure.

On the other hand, since you have a Jones fork, you don't have to worry about ordering the hub because you can space out the rotor if you need to. The opposite scenario (rear disc spacing fork and front disc spacing hub) would leave you SOL.

Not necessarily. It is easy enough to machine the mounting adapter to move the caliper over 5mm to make it work. There is still plenty of meat on the adapter for the loads involved. There have been pictures of the conversion on previous threads.

Sorry this post was in response to the SOL comment.
