Stud Height on Dillinger (Pavement Push)

So it's spring now and my commute is about 1/3 ice and 2/3 pavement. I've received reassuring messages from both people at 45nrth and on the web that indicate the concave studs in my Dillenger 5's should outlive the rubber, so to speak.

That said, the two centre rows of studs are much lower than the two outer rows. Is that from wear, or is that just from the studs getting pushed deeper into the tire on the part of the rubber that receives the most contact with the road?

You are correct, the studs don't wear out and the tires don't wear out, but the combination doesn't last.

I have a whole saga regarding this issue, got a warrantied set etc. Don't have time to look for the thread but do a search or I'll look for it when I have time.
