Spoke length Marge lite on a Lefty

Using the freespoke calculator (Freespoke) on a Marge Lite rim (using only the left hand holes) laced 3 x 32 to a lefty I get figures of 262.1 and 264.3.

To get these numbers I've used a spoke bed offset of 12.5 and -12.5 (I assume this is left and right respectively) and hub offset of -17.5 to take account of the mendon lefty clamps.

    Do these look right?

    Thanks

    Tim

    Yep, should be fine.

That said though, you'd do well to drop the 264 back to 263 for the disc side, less spoke poke to deal with.....

    Marge Lite Wheelbuild Question

dunno if that helps. i had some issues using freespoke with offset plugged in because it seems as though surly's given ERD actually compensates for the offset...i measured the ERD of the rim and it is iirc in that thread...

Thanks to both of you for the advice. It's hard (impossible) to find odd size spokes in Australia and shipping from the US sites that have then is very expensive so I'll go with 262s and 264s.

Now I just have to wait for the rim (and pay for the clamps).

After it's built, just remember, a Dremel tool with an abrasive cut off wheel is your friend....

    Tim,

About to build up same wheel, any surprises with your calcs or all good?
Just waiting on clamps - it's going to be awesome.
    Cheers, dave.

    Dave

The wheel build was remarkably easy and it has kept true for about 500 miles.

I enjoy riding without hammering my forearms.
