    'Secret' Trials Pugsley Prototype?

Hope this isn't a duplicate post, but I found

"'Secret' Fat-Tire Trials Bike from Surly"

"... The single-speed bike uses a small Pugsley frame along with a teeny chainring, disc brakes, Race Face and Salsa parts," and Larrys.

Yeah, that's the engineer at Surly's bike (or at least an employee there) I think. They posted pics of it on facebook. The color scheme is bad @ss

Based on bikes i have seen in the past (for example :It lives! )and the one that i build (26"skinny SS), it seems like you (almost) can't go wrong with black and orange.

I know the owner of that bike. He is very into trials and is an accomplished trials rider. Nothing more than his take on a fat bike trials rig. He also has a standard fat bike. Works as an inside rep at QBP.

And yes- he is an orange ano freak.

cool to see, but that endomorph sucks ass for any real trials riding. needs a nate for sure!

edit: Marge Lites?!? where's the crazy drilled out hundy for the rear?

your 29er may float over roots and rocks, but my superlight 26 just plain floats

Ya! can't have that tire rolling on off camber side hops.

A hundo on the rear would do no better for side hops, the offset wheel would likely taco before the tire rolled anyway if the side load where that much.

I want a fattie 1x1 for a build like this.

there really wouldn't be much point... the only 'fat' trials tire is the nate so you would want a non offset rear end frame and 180mm rotors for sure

As cool as that is, I don't see it being very useful for trials. It's going to be too heavy for serious trials. I'd still love to try one out! (I'm a has-been trials rider...)
