Salsa Blackborow GX1 vs. Cannondale Fat Caad 1

I am new fat biking and need some advice from you guys. Any opinions on which one of these two is a better year around bike. Not looking to spend a lot of money in upgrades. Will be riding mostly single track, both in dirt and packed snow, here in Minneapolis and occasionally doing some exploration. Thanks for the help!

If you're looking to use it year round I would go with the Blackborow. It's less expensive than the Cannondale. With the price difference you could buy a 29+ wheelset and purchase a 29+ wheel set with the difference. This will give you the flexibility of a summer wheel set and a winter wheel set for pretty much the same price as the cannondale by itself.

Demoed a Caad1 & didn't like geometry. Also, can't use fender which is a deal breaker for me. Budgeting for the extra stuff is important. Car rack, rack on bike, etc

The Bb GX1 will do just about anything you want it to.
Do it however you want to do it. You don't owe anyone an explanation.

Thank you everyone for your feedback! I can get the CAAD 1 for the same price as the Blackborow so it was making the decisions complicated. I have been leaning towards the Blackborow for all the reasons that have been listed so far but the lefty has me curious. I also thought the 100mm wheels might be overkill in the summer. I have money budgeted for a car rack and some bags but didn't want to buy another set of wheels for a while.

I'm in the same boat and I'm leaning towards the CAAD 1. I have a carbon Beargrease with 29+ for summer. I'm looking for 4.8 inch capable bike for winter with the ability to still have fun in summer when riding with my Fat equipped buddies. I figure the Lefty and lighter rims should make it more fun in summer than the Blackborow. Perhaps I'm mistaken.

Curious, what was wrong with it? How is the Fatboy better?

    TIA.

The demo was just in parking lot but there was snow. Seemed sluggish & wheelbase was longer. Fatboy felt more like mountain bike & I could lift front wheel much easier. Not wrong just very interested in Olaf but frame seemed 'heavy' & 'long'.

Fatboy. Very happy with it & have money left over for stuff like fenders, rack, etc.

I think Fatboy Expert is carbon so it would be a lot lighter.

Actually, I am surprised are no magazine or online published reviews of the Fat Caad 1.

I have a Blackborow running 3.5 x 26 Vee Speedsters on the 100mm rims. A little oversteer on pavement when leaning into turns but they fly at 25psi.
If I they made a 3.5 x 27.5 Speedster, I would build up a 80mm wide wheelset and go tubeless.
