    Polar challenge Super Fat Bike

Sorry if this has been posted.

An expedition is attempting to be the first to use a bike to reach the South Pole. It will mean tackling some of the most extreme conditions on the planet. So how can a bike manage it?

Even if she somehow does make it all the way without her extensive crew pushing her along, it will only be for a portion on bike, so it wont be anything even resembling first bike to reach the south pole.

i read somewhere its only being used for part of the journey, probaly the shortest, she did write saying she tested it on her local beach first and it was rubbish on the sand!

I looked into getting one of these when I first wanted to do iditabike. The only people I could find who had ridden one said it was like riding a trash can. These Hanebrink bikes have been around for over a decade and yet no one seems to have won any of the major snow races on one. The only thing I would want to do less than ridding one would be pushing one.

It has definitly become a case of a lion(ess) led by donkeys,
she is a tough wee cookie capable of attempting any challange, but the folk organising it don`t seem to have a clue!
Less folk have heard of or seen a Hanebrink in the UK than a 4" regular fatbike!, where they found that and decided to use it is bonkers!,

she is fit though (fit as in goodlooking, as well as fit and active)
    plan it...build it....ride it...love it....

BBC News - Polar challenge: How do you cycle to the South Pole?

Hmmm... My plastic saddle has not shattered yet, nor have my hydraulic brakes frozen over.

    8 lb. steel belted tires!!!!!
