    I had a custom Curtlo on order when I found the Salsa on ebay, and bought it to ride until the Curtlo was done. It was nice, the only two things I didn't like were that the rear tire clearance was a little tight (it cleared a 4.8" surly tire on an 80mm rim, so not that tight), but the curtlo's steel tubes have even better clearance, and if I was standing and cranking up a hill, the bottom bracket had enough flex to push the chainstay and chain into the tire, which made the chain act like a tire scraper on the sidewall, clearing all the mud off the tire and bogging down the chain and derailleur. The steel frame has no noticeable flex under hard climbing efforts. That being said, had I not had the custom frame already on order, I'd probably still be riding the salsa. Oh, and I think the Curtlo looks a lot cooler.
