Newb question, your input helps, temp street tire for fatboy

    Hi,
I have a SP Fatboy but I find I am doing much of my off roading on my camber 29'er. And riding more road trails on the fatboy. Can anyone recommend a good tire for he road trails in So Cal. I don't want to wear out the ground controls, and would like a lower rolling resistance for strictly road work. Any suggestions are appreciated. I used the search function, but could not get much info.
    Cheers,
    FGO

Are you looking to swap tires on your rims or have an entire second set of wheels?
    I like turtles

I was not looking for a separate set of wheels as I am old and a bit poor, but tires swap quickly. I was just looking for a tire to ride the road trails with and save my ground controls for off road, any input is welcomed. I see tons of info, but as a 60 year old new person to this sport, it is hard for me to get it. You folks speak a different language that I am trying to learn, and any help is truly appreciated.
    Cheers,

In my experience, a good tire for riding the road (pavement) is a 3.5 Vee rubber speedster/Sunlite crusher. The 60tpi wire bead version should only cost 45.00usd per. I have a lot of road miles on this tire, works good.
    Have fun.

    I second this.

I bought a couple Vee Rubber Speedsters last Spring for limestone / road / commuting purposes and have loved them. They'll be going on RAGBRAI next week.
