    New to Me. I.D. Help

So i wasn't sure how much i would like a fat bike. So i set out to buy a used one to get an idea of if i like it or not. Found this framed fat bike for a great deal (correct me if I'm wrong) but i don't think it was posted right because i cant find one that looks like it anywhere really. I picked it up for 300$ let me know if you can give me some feedback on what the bike is and if its a good one. Thank you. New to Me. I.D. Help-uploadfromtaptalk1453734869222.jpgNew to Me. I.D. really hard to tell. It looks like the wolftrax though. If it is, $300 is a good deal. Best thing to do is look at the components and see what's there. Let us know, and that'll help a lot on deciding what it really is. Every year is different, so it probably has a previous year's color scheme, which could be difficult to track down.

Also look at the frame near the pedals. I remember some users saying they had some cracks that would form in the chainstays if the users were rather heavy handed in their riding style. Not a common problem, but big bikes encourage big insanity.

I'd hope it's not stolen for that price, that's $1000 less than retail!

Yeah. I was concerned about that at first. He had it posted much higher but said his roof developed a leak and he needed money to fix that. So im not really sure what to think now.

From the super detailed description, exact model listed and great price, there's a chance it "could" be stolen.

daniil92a: Was this posted on Craigslist? I scour the Mpls/St. Paul ads quite often and have not seen this one come up.

No the-one1. This was posted on another selling site : offerup. What model do you guys think it is then? Or tough to say without more pictures?

I haven't seen anything in the Twin Cities of a stolen Framed Wolftrax. Looks like you got a smoking good deal.

Do a search for the frame serial number to verify it's good. If it's stolen and the previous owner had the frame number, it should be searchable.

singletracks will list trails and reviews. The strava heat map shows where people are actually riding bikes.

It very well could be too good to be true. Just because the seller was knowledgeable doesn't mean he was legit, bike thieves can certainly be enthusiasts which also makes it easier to discern whether or not a bike is worth taking. Did the seller give you any paperwork to go along with the bike? Owner's manual perhaps? Does it have a silver warranty sticker on the bottom bracket shell? I wonder if you could have the guys at The House in St. Paul/Little Canada track down the name on the warranty to see if the bike was stolen.

It's true that good deals come around and some sellers can be very personally motivated. The deal on this though would make me wonder pretty hard if it was a legitimate sale. At least $700 off retail (w/o knowing the specs) in its 1st year, during the winter fatty season?..idk. I look for good deals, it's like a treasure hunt, but this would make me feel guilty.
I don't know why,... it's just MUSS easier to pedal than the other ones.

I bought a Framed Minnesota for $450 a few months ago, and could have gotten it for $400, and I just sold my 4 month old Boris X9 FS for $700, so good deals do happen!
