New Husker Du vs Old Husker Du

What are the impressions of anybody who has tried both versions? Curious to know since I've run the old version in years past and recently got hold of a pair of the new version. Not sure yet what terrain where the tires will excel, so I thought I'd ask before putting them onto the ground.

I would like to hear a ride review of the new Du's as well, I can't find anything on them.
Trying to decide between the new Husker's or JJ 4.0's for the summer.

I have both versions. No big difference between the 2.
One of my favorite tires. Not a mud or soft snow tire.

do the new ones corner any better than the old ones? that's supposedly one of the things that's improved on them. taller side knobs. I have been able to put my hands on the new ones back in November, but haven't ridden anything with them yet. I think I have one more summer season on my old HuDus, anyway, so I've got no pressing need for new rubber. But I'm curious for when that time comes.

Well, I finally took the plunge last week and mounted up a pair front-and-rear to my rigid fat bike with 80mm rims. I've only had 2 rides on the tires on dry pack, though my initial impression agrees with the earlier comment that the new HuDus perform similar to the first version - which is a good thing, of course. The center channel of knobs keeps the tire easy rolling. While the tire slips occasionally on steeper climbs and sudden braking (maybe I also need to try experimenting with the tire pressure?), the tire provides traction "good enough" considering the relatively few center knobs it has.

If there's one tire I'm reminded of while riding the newer HuDus, it's the Jumbo Jim in 4.0" guise. Rolling resistance seems similar and the overall mission of the tire is similar too.
