I thought that about $1000 was the normal retail price for the bike.
Seems like they are misrepresenting the "sale"
some have already bought the bike with other discounts below $900.

Thats a marketing sale scam. It's deception trying to manipulate people into thinking it's a sensational deal. Such trickery is not ethical and it is blatant misrepresentation. It's implying to the buyer that they are getting a special sale when 50% off "retail" is what the bike normally sells for. They are trying to reel in unaware and uninformed buyers. Shame on you Nashbar, why don't you forgo the false advertising

almost every online bike store does it though. when Nashbar had their 25% off would have been a good time to get it, but not now. Lots of online fat bikes in that range, and the Nashbar is nothing special when compared to the rest. Someone else described this pretty well (for bikesdirect), where the price you pay is good for what you get, but the MSRP and "savings" is complete bull.

For fat bikes, right now, one of the better deals is probably the Minnesota fatbikes because they include a second 29er wheelset (assuming that promo is still running).

Edit: originally called them Montana fatbikes instead of Minnesota. Really, what's the difference?

I don't know about the Montanas but the Minnesota form Framed Bikes certainly comes with second wheel set.

$999 is their regular price for the Nashbar. The best deal on the Nashbar Fatbike is when they have their 15 or 20 or 25% off sale. Last week they had 14% off $999 and the bike was $860.

As for the Boris it won't be here until around March 25th

And assuming the bike is not a total piece of garbage. We have reviews of the BD bikes, so we all know what we are getting with one of those bikes.

Calling your fatbikes "Minnesota Fats" is pretty cool, I thought. Maybe only us old farts get it?
