    Loopwheels application for fat?

Loopwheels ? First Ride Review - BikeRadar

creative design, seems on the surface like it would act as another form of passive suspension but i'm thinking that a low pressure tire would not really allow the inherit suspension of the wheel to work as well as it could.

Been done before, but it will be interesting to see if they manage to avoid the inherent problems.

I'd say it would be of more use absorbing road vibrations than as actual suspension, but just like the original, larger pneumatic tyres can do that too.

What I wonder is if there will be a certain amount of automatic gearing - will pressing hard on a hill compress the wheel so its effective radius is less?

Anyhow, I hope it works, it's a lightweight solution.

I am with you velobike, there are a few inherent engineering problems, I wonder if they can stop the bouncing as they cannot dampen this out like in a fork?

Would be great if it works however as will be a light way for suspension..... however you are not going to get much more travel that a fat tyre has??
