Jones Bars / OMM Racks on a Pug

    Hey guys,

Anyone use a Jones bar on their pug for commuting? Just want a little input before dropping the cash. Same goes for the OMM rear rack... how does the off set frame affect things?

    Thanks

    Mick

Just generic commentary on the Jones loop h-bar in 710mm. I'm a drop bar guy that just put them on my Ogre and really really like them. The sweep I find very comfortable, puts my wrist in a neutral position. The 710mm longer extension really makes for two distinct position on the extensions. I used a shortie stem to bring them in pretty close with the "standard" grip being up close to the cross bar for control, climbing and cornering and the close in, outer grip to sit up and relax more.

I went ESI grips, not flashy, but they allow you to easily slide your hands along the extension to use the full length of it fluidly and I think it was also a good choice.

Avid Speed Dial levers mounted against the crossbar on the "outside" and the Paul Thumbies are mounted above the crossbar.

I'm using jones bars on my pugsley as I love them on my jones.

I just run basic long esi grips....I might add bar tape but I'm happy bare at the moment.....all day ride in comfort last week was great.

I'm considering a set of these bars as well. How often do you hit your knees with them when the trail gets technical? How are they for stand up climbs?

    Never.

I have them on five of my bikes.

    No issue standing.
