Nice. If you take that out during hunting season in the snow, make sure to wear a safety orange vest, though. Keep the pics coming. Are the rims slated for a matching paint job?

It's a process called hydrographic dipping.

Whoa that's awesome. How much $ that run, about?

I'm thinking that's what "snowblind" should really be.
Oh noes. I'm going to drink the Kool-Aid.

It wasn't cheap. It was $150 for the frame, $25 for the fork, and $15 for two extra coats of clear coat. That included all frame prep and sanding, primer, automotive grade base coat, the hydrographic films and activator, and four coats of clear coat. As far as durability, it should be just as durable, if not more so, than any other bike (or car, for that matter) paint job.

Here's the Facebook page for the guy who did it:

    Niiiice.

Here's a video of how it works: HYDRO DIPPING Gun stock - YouTube

Making balloons and medical stuff is somewhat similar. For each respective discipline people have chemicals and mixtures all super figured out and it took a lot of trial and error to get there.

The point I'm trying to make is: that price is really reasonable, considering.

I got a quote from a local powder coat company to strip and repaint my frame for ~$140, so I'd say that is a pretty fair price.

That is a cool frame, hikernks.

They should offer that as stock! Definitely the best paint job I've seen!
