    Help with dropper.

Hi all, I'm hoping you can help steer me in the right direction. I'm thinking of buying a dropper post but am not sure if I have enough room to make it worthwhile. Attached is a picture of how my current seat post is set. Here's my concern... I am 5'9", with an inseam of 29". I've always been sized according to my torso. My bike is a 2016 Salsa Blackborow (M). The problem that I run into is getting back on the bike on down hills. My seat interferes with my legs. *This may very well be rider error, poor tech.* Would it make sense to get a dropper post? Or, try a shorter stem and bars with a slight rise and use my torso to get me back more. FWIW: The seat post is raised 5".
    Any help would be appreciated!

If it is 5" from seat rails to top of seat collar, you may be able to run a 75mm dropper like the KS Supernatural. You could also get a flatter seat to raise the height of the rails some and get a 100mm dropper.

I use a dropper on my FS fat bike, but not on my rigid fat bike. I'm not riding trails aggressive enough to justify the weight on the rigid bike and I don't get enough snow where getting back on the bike is an issue. I would try one, other than weigh and occasional maintenance, there is no down side

When I'm riding in deep snow, remounting sometimes sucks. It would definitely be a huge advantage to have a dropper. I have one on my summer bike, but I hesitate to put one on the fat bike. I just don't want to deal with the extra maintenance.

    Ultimately, I'll probably get one.
