getting home on a flat tire

Anyone running 2 "regular" MTB tubes (26x2.5) per tire in their fat tire set ups?

The idea - drill 2 offset holes in fat rims for tubes, install tubes and inflate.

The reason - if one tube goes flat, you could still get home without having to replace tube.

Not saying I am going to do it, but I have had to repair a flat in the winter and it is a pain in the butt.

    Thoughts?

That's what the original 80mm Remolinos used...my understanding is that it was a heinous PITA as both tubes required equal pressure.

At first it might sound like a great idea, but I think you'll find it doesn't work very well.

seems like it might just be easier to carry a spare tube and a pump.

Hmm. Something put a hole in one tube - so now the other one fills that area - and is punctured by the same thing? Part of fixing a flat is always getting the perpetrator/penetrator outta there.

I also recall some horror stories of what liners can do, balling up, wearing holes in things.

In the interest of science, you should try it if it makes sense to you.
Fatbikes are much more fun they they should be allowed to be!
