Frozen beach happy times in Sapporo, Japan -- great pics linked!

    Hi Fellow Fatbikers,

I've been living in Sapporo, Japan, for about 4 months, and got a fatbike about 2 months ago (cancelled my Fatboy order due to delays, and got a 9:zero:7 instead!). This is post (and the blog post linked below) details my first decent fatbike ride. I've found that the ungroomed snow here is generally too deep and powdery to ride, and groomed trails are pretty hard to find, so I turned to the beach instead.

This weekend I took my 9:zero:7 190mm to Ishikari Beach, north of Sapporo, for a cruise with a long-time resident by the name of Rob. Rob doesn't have a fatbike, but since the sand was frozen solid (!), he got along just fine with spiked tyres.

I'll let Rob's fantastic pictures and blog post do the talking!

14degrees Off The Beaten Track Mid-winter cycling on Ishikari Beach

For the record, I was running 3.1 PSI rear and 3.5 front, Bud and Lou on Holy Darryls, both set up tubeless.

    Cheers,
    Alex.

I was just in Sapporo in December. All I could think about was how badly I wished I had brought my fat bike.

Yes indeed share more often. The pics are wonderful. It's rare for photos to have a viewer truly sense the experience. Very Nice Post.
