Fattie on a Thule roof rack?

Curious if anyone has ever put a fattie up on a roof rack? I should have my first fat bike (Felt DD 70) this week and plan on using my roof rack on my Benz to haul it round. I will figure out a way to make it work.

I just use a Fork Up adapter mount for the front and throw an old toe clip strap around the back tire. Makes it all the way around the skinny fork tray and 4.0 tire/80mm rim combo no probs. Never had an issue. I'll try to get a pic soon. It's on a very old Thule fork mount rack from the early 2000's, mounted on an 06 Honda Civic. Cheap and works great. Got the Fork Up from fleaBay for $35.

I'm using a Rocky Mounts tray with their Fat Strap extender and the Hurricane fork adapter. Works great for me.

The new Thule fat stuff works great with Fat Bikes, the front wheel thing/holder (sorry the proper word escapes me) is made to fit a fat bike.

Wife has the car out now so I can't take a pic, but easy peasy.
Ours is on a rear rack, but same rails for the roof.

We're using the updated Thule 598 with fatbike adapter kit on a pair of aerobars and it works perfectly.
The new bike holder has an improved clamp compared to the previous 591 and the bike is very stable once it's clamped and strapped .

Using a Thule 591 here... It is the later model with 'L' shaped wheel supports, rather than 'U' shaped, and 4.7" tyres fit in no problem. The original wheel straps aren't long enough for fat tyres - I took them off an fed a pair of ratchet straps through the guides. Works for road bike, MTB and fat bike. Has been completely secure for hundreds, if not thousands of miles.

It's the only way I can transport my Farley 5 with my little car.

    Fat bike roof rack

I just made a fat bike tray out of an old Yakima tray. I have not tried it out yet, but should work well. Got to figure out how to post pics.

I like my Rockymounts Tomahawk enough that I will risk sounding like a shill:

.... Sturdy, fat bike ready at a modest price.
